FIXING OF WATER BAR IN WATER RETAINING STRUCTURES

It is the general practice to have water bars in the construction joints of concrete elements in any water retaining structures.

The contractor should have the experience to fix it correctly. Otherwise, the consequences shall be worse than not having it. If it is doubtful it is advisable to avoid it and prepare the joint properly before the next casting, then to repair the joints on completion of the segment.

This shall save the cost of the water bar and the trouble of repairing on failure.
